Do you use ‘Orange Treatments’?
No, we do not use these products because they do not provide long lasting residual protection, in some cases only 4-5 days! The termites that survive the ‘orange’ treatment can come back and continue eating the previously treated wood. Their effectiveness in eradicating termite infestations is limited, we would not do a treatment that we felt was not going to provide you with the service that you need.
What products do you use?
We use two of the very best products available, Bora-Care and Termidor.
How effective are they?
Bora-Care is regarded as the best of the borate products. It soaks deeper into the wood compared to other borates giving you excellent longer lasting protection, treated wood becomes inedible to termites and Bora-Care will protect your wood for as long as it’s in service. Termidor is primarily used on subterranean termites as a soil treatment. In on going field studies where wood was embedded in the soil more than 10 years ago and had a Termidor treatment put around them, are still free and clear of any termite infestation today. The wood that did not have a perimeter treatment was infested with subterranean termites.
How safe are these products?
Bora-Care is derived from mineral salt, it is safe for us but deadly to termites. Termidor uses very low amounts of fipronil that is too small to be a problem for us and or our pets. In fact fipronil is used in some pet products to help get rid of fleas.
Is it essential to mix these products correctly prior to a treatment on my home?
Absolutely, without mixing the products correctly you might as well not have a treatment done at all. We mix our products at the job location so the homeowner is able to see they are getting new and not old mixed product.
Do I need to move out or bag my food?
With Bora-Care and Termidor treatments there is no need to move out, bag food or remove pets. There are no odors or dangerous fumes associated with these products.
How long does it take you to inspect a home?
We take as long as it’s necessary to make sure we have searched every possible area of a structure. Too many times we have inspected homes that were previously inspected by other companies, only to find that they had missed several termite infestations. Thoroughness is our trademark and we won’t do it any other way.
